I’m Mike Glodowski, and I used to hate drilling holes—let me explain why.
I grew up in Jerome, Idaho, a small town famous for Evel Knievel’s failed 1974 jump across the Snake River Canyon. Life on the farm meant constant equipment repairs, usually on-site, with dull drill bits that felt like they were made in the 1800s. As a kid, drilling holes felt like it took forever—and honestly, it did.
After high school, I attended auto body and fender college. There, I drilled even more holes and realized I still hated it. Later, I spent years as a whitewater river guide on Idaho’s Middle Fork River, logging over 25,000 river miles. While I loved most of it, I often found myself repairing the outfitter’s equipment—yes, more drilling.
